Mia Moth Wolffbrandt, MSc, Research Nurse in Neurorehabilitation Research and Knowledge Centre, Copenhagen, has more than 20-years of experience as a clinical nurse within hospital-based neurorehabilitation of patients with severe acquired brain injuries. One of her highly prioritized areas within clinical practice has been focusing on the needs of the entire family in the rehabilitation process. In 2017, she finalized her MSc in Health Science from Copenhagen University with the thesis title “Nursing opportunities and potentials in the highly specialized neurorehabilitation of patients with severe acquired brain injuries - from the perspective of nurses and patient’s relatives”.
Currently, Mia is working as a Research Nurse. The research conducted in Neurorehabilitation Research and Knowledge Centre concerns patients with neurorehabilitation needs, more specifically patients with injury to the brain or spinal cord. Her overall goal is to strengthen neurorehabilitation across sectors to the benefit of patients with injury to the brain or spinal cord and their caregivers. In the years to come, Mia is working with on a PhD-project which concerns children as relatives in neurorehabilitation.
