I have had over eight years of experience conducting program evaluations and utilizing this information to improve the next iteration of the program. For example, for three years I worked with a program called Healthy Families, a family-based program for overweight/obese children and their families. During this time, I helped to develop the curriculum based on evidence-based practices then evaluated the program using both quantitative and qualitative measures. Based on our evaluation, we then provided recommendations that were then incorporated to improve the program. When I evaluated the program again several years later I found significant improvements in knowledge, behaviors, and self-efficacy for nutrition and physical activity providing evidence that I have the skills necessary to apply quantitative and qualitative research findings to improve health behaviors.
