Amy Ransohoff Brisson, a licensed occupational therapist (OT), has three and a half years’ experience working at Lincoln Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, where she assesses and treats patients in acute inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation with neurological, orthopedic, poly-traumatic, and geriatric illnesses. Last year, she was involved assessing and treating COVID-19 patients during the acute and subacute phases of illness, and she served as a panelist in the Annual NYC OT Stroke Study Group Presentation discussing how COVID-19 impacted care of stroke patients. Amy also serves as a part-time research assistant under Dr. Gerald Voelbel, with the goal of understanding how computerized cognitive remediation programs impact verbal memory performance in participants with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Amy’s clinical focus is to focus on improving OT cognitive assessment and treatment of various neurological populations, and better understand how health determinants impact OT practice. Amy received B.A. (psychology) from University of Michigan and M.S. at Columbia University Programs in Occupational Therapy, Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
