Graduate Student Researcher
University of Pittsburgh
I do not have any relevant financial / non-financial relationships with any proprietary interests.
I am a Ph.D. student mentored by Dr. Bambang Parmanto at the University of Pittsburgh. My research focuses on applying the Internet of Things (IoT) to improve health and health care for people with chronic disease and their caregivers.
I have an international background in computer science, electronic engineering, data mining, and rehabilitation science, with specific expertise in digital health. My academic training to date has provided me with the knowledge to apply technology to health care. My programming skills and project experience laid the groundwork for the proposed research. As an undergraduate, I helped develop a cross-platform real-time monitoring prototype using Web Real-time Communication (WebRTC). Now at the University of Pittsburgh, I am working on several projects leveraging digital health to deliver interventions to populations with different diseases. In 2018 - 2019, I completed a developer internship that motivated me to change from a developer and engineer to a mobile health researcher. The one-year job inspired me that health care could be one of the prior fields where the Internet of Things could be in practice. In summary, I have the expertise, leadership, and motivation necessary to successfully carry out the proposed research project.
