After being diagnosed with Perthes Disease in his hip at the age of two, Skyler Porcaro was told he would never play sports. However, through determination and perseverance, not only did he overcome the odds of becoming an athlete, but also gained a love for the human body and medicine because of this experience. Skyler is a graduate of Southern Utah University, with a double major in Spanish and biology, and a minor in chemistry. He is also the school record holder in the Javelin for the SUU Track and Field team, and continues to train and compete in the javelin throw on a national level. Skyler currently attends medical school at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, where he aspires to become a doctor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation after graduation in 2023.
