Dr. Patel is Associate Professor in Speech-Language Pathology at Seton Hall University and has an affiliated appointment as Assistant Professor of Neurology at Hackensack Meridian Health School of Medicine. She directs the Voice Analytics, Neurodiagnostics, and Rehabilitation Lab, whose mission is to examine impairments in the auditory-neural mechanisms of voice control and emotional prosody production in Parkinson's, Alzheimer’s, stroke, and sports-related concussion. She also co-directs the newly instituted Center for Disease detection, Prevention, and Intervention (CDPI) at Seton Hall University. Her research is funded by the National Institute of Deafness and Communication Disorders (NIDCD).
