The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio
I do not have any relevant financial / non-financial relationships with any proprietary interests.
I am an Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy, and my research is focused on social determinants of children’s health and developmental outcomes. I completed the Environmental Justice Bootcamp through Columbia University in 2021. My most recent research project laid the groundwork for the proposed research by identifying the positive correlation between playground quality and median household income at the ZETA level in El Paso County, TX. In addition, I have specific training and expertise in conducting longitudinal secondary data analysis and qualitative research. Since my first faculty position at UT-El Paso, I have successfully collaborated with other researchers and community-based settings on various projects as well as produced several peer-reviewed publications from each project. The current application builds logically on my prior work. In summary, I have the expertise, leadership, training, and motivation necessary to serve as a co-investigator in the proposed research project.
