Currently, Dr. Sutton is an Assistant Professor at the University at Buffalo. Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, she obtained her Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling and Counselor Education at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Dr. Sutton completed her Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the Advanced Rehabilitation Research and Training (ARRT) Program, situated within the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) on Research and Capacity Building for Minority Entities at Langston University. With over eight years of experience in rehabilitation counseling as an advocate, practitioner, and educator, Dr. Sutton has played a central role in developing grants, presented at over 30 state, national, and international conferences, and published several peer-reviewed journal articles on research findings. Dr. Sutton is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and actively serves as a National Association of Multicultural Concerns (NAMRC) Board Member at Large. Although Dr. Sutton's clinical experience has been diverse, her primary research interests include assistive technology (AT) access and awareness, substance use disorders and behavioral health treatments, neurodevelopmental disorders, and employment among diverse populations with disabilities.
