Sara P. Johnston, PhD, MPH, CRC, is an Adjunct Professor in the Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She was previously an Associate Professor in the Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program and the Olson Fellow for Global Engaged Learning at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Johnston has served in leadership roles for the National Association of Disability Benefits Specialists and the Rehabilitation Counselors and Educators Association. She serves as a board member for On with Life Brain Injury Rehabilitation, and as board member and chair of the Standards and Exam Committee for the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification. She has conducted research, published, and presented on health care disparities related to disability, global health and disability, and advocacy and ethics in clinical practice.
