Daniel Young completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy training at Creighton University in 2002 and his PhD in Public Health at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2014. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and holds an appointment as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation where he helps to lead the work of the Activity and Mobility Promotion (AMP) program. His research aims to combat the immobility harm experienced by patients in the hospital through better understanding of the access to, outcomes from, and costs associated with inpatient rehabilitation efforts.
