Aliki Thomas is Associate Professor at the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, McGill University and researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation of Greater Montreal. Dr Thomas’ research addresses the longstanding underutilization of scientific evidence in health care by bringing together stakeholders from education and research, clinical practice, and health policy. Using an integrated knowledge translation (KT) approach, she is exploring how each sector contributes to the development and sustainability of evidence-based practice (EBP) and can collectively develop, implement and test the effectiveness of KT interventions to facilitate the uptake of scientific evidence. Her research domains include 1) education for EBP; 2) KT for EBP; 3) methodological and theoretical approaches to KT and EBP; and 4) education-practice-policy nexus. Dr. Thomas is a Fond de Recherche du Quebec Sante Junior 2 research scholar for her research program on KT for evidence-based practice in stroke rehabilitation
