Amanda Meyer, MS OTR/L is a Level III Inpatient Occupational Therapist at Gaylord Specialty Healthcare since 2017. She services as one of the six members of the operations group for the Milne Institute of Healthcare Innovation which is part of Gaylord’s research and applied technology sector. Meyer earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy both at Springfield College. She has been an Occupational Therapist for 8 years working in acute care and long term acute care settings. Along with her research studies, Amanda has clinical expertise in the areas of Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, and Medically Complex patient populations and is certified in treating patients with Ventricular Assistive Devices.
Amanda has most recently served as the primary investigator for a research study investigating the effectiveness of a balance perturbation system in the inpatient stroke population. She was a member of interdisciplinary team members that was involved in a retrospective COVID outcomes study in the LTACH setting . Her ongoing research study is in the area of visual field expansion interventions after acute neurological injury.
