Dr. Yeasir Alve joined the TaylorLab as a postdoctoral research fellow in January, 2021 after having completed his Ph.D. in Occupational Therapy at Tokyo Metropolitan University in Japan. At Tokyo Metro, Dr. Alve conducted qualitative studies of Bangladeshi spinal cord injuries and refugees. While at UIC, Dr. Alve has been serving as the Project Director for a large-scale epidemiological study of COVID-19 infection and testing uptake. Currently, he also oversees continued research and development within the Model of Human Occupation and Intentional Relationship Clearinghouse. Dr. Alve has co-authored two chapters from the upcoming 6th edition of Kielhofner’s Model of Human Occupation book and he is planning to organize the upcoming MOHO Conference. Also, he is coordinating a new Post-Covid immunological research study using the fibromyalgia blood test (FM/a ®) with Epicgenetics, California, under the supervision of Dr. Renée Taylor. Moreover, Dr. Alve has been enjoying teaching AHS 200: Intro Integrated Health since Fall 2021.
