Dr. Kelly Krese completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Illinois-Chicago and became a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy in 2020. She worked as a Senior Therapist at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab before transitioning to a research role. Her expertise is in the area of traumatic brain injury but she has extensive experience working with people with a multitude of neurological diagnoses including spinal cord injury and stroke. In 2018, she was awarded the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab James Brown IV Fellowship. She executed a randomized controlled trial (PI Dr. David Ripley) on the impact of yoga for traumatic brain injury while maintaining a full-time clinician role. She now serves as co-investigator and research coordinator for studies on neuromodulation for people after mild to severe traumatic brain injuries. She has served as an expert consultant, content developer, and instructor for the Specialty Rehab Hospital of United Arab Emirates and Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Humanitarian City of Saudi Arabia since 2019. She is an adjunct faculty member at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and a Certified Yoga Teacher.
