I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, University of Washington School of Medicine. I am both a researcher and an attending psychologist at Harborview Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center and safety net hospital. I am an attending psychologist on the Inpatient Trauma Rehabilitation Service in addition to having experience serving on the Psychology Consultation Service and the Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Program. As a member of the clinical treatment teams, I implement current evidence-based interventions for patients with chronic illness, disability, and new traumatic injuries such as spinal cord injury (SCI), traumatic brain injury (TBI), and stroke, as well as intervene with medical providers and health care systems to improve the delivery of care. My research focuses on the biopsychosocial and clinical factors that impact the treatment and management of chronic illnesses, including chronic pain and rehabilitation diagnoses such as TBI and SCI.
