Katie M. Polo, DHS, OTR, CLT-LANA is an Associate Professor in the School of Occupational Therapy at the University of Indianapolis. Katie's research and practice are focused on delivering OT health and wellness programming to cancer survivors in the community. Her latest contributions to the scientific literature explored the lived experiences of community cancer survivors and another project that explored the impact of her developed four-week Occupational Therapy Health and Wellness Program (OT-HAWP) on performance and health-related quality of life of cancer survivors. Additionally, Katie is currently working on finalizing the first screening tool for oncology team members to identify those that need occupational therapy services due to occupational performance limitations called the Screening of Cancer Survivorship-Occupational Therapy Services (SOCS-OTS). She has published a number of scientific research papers and textbook chapters in the areas of cancer care, community practice in survivorship care, and lymphedema.
