Ilyse Lax is a passionate healthcare leader working at the intersection of research, innovation and clinical transformation. Ilyse has enabled multi-disciplinary teams to effectively design, implement and scale strategic process and program improvements that enable true integration. Ilyse holds Masters Degrees in Experimental Neuroscience, Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy and Healthcare Administration (candidate). She draws on her decade of experience as an Occupational Therapist and System Navigator to inform strategic system transformation. Ilyse led the design and implementation of the Rehabilitation Consultation Program at the Pencer Brain Tumour Centre at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, she actively co-developed oncology rehabilitation pathways at the University Health Network, and most recently Managed COVID-19 Vaccination at Trillium Health Partners, a community hospital system in one of the hardest hit regions in Ontario, Canada. As an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Ilyse contributes to the oncology curriculum and interprofessional clinical education. Prompting her students to think critically about traditional rehabilitation models and learn how to harness excellence of frontline teams, powered by the lived experience of patients and families.
