Angelika Kudla has Bachelors of Science in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience and in Psychology. As an undergraduate, Ms. Kudla worked in Human, Auditory, Vision, & Cognitive Lab researching synesthesia and specialized in the Stroop Test. Ms. Kudla started as research assistant and in 6 months’ time became the Lab manager. During her undergraduate years, she also had an internship at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and gained experience working with people who have a physical disability. After college she worked with Medicare patients to get their needs covered by their insurance. Ms.Kudla then returned to Shirley Ryan AbilityLab to work with Dr. Allen Heinemann and Dr. Linda Ehrlich-Jones as a project coordinator and participate in a NIDILRR-funded project which aims to promote job retention for people with physical disabilities. She was a part of a systematic review on the effectiveness of job accommodations for workers with physical disabilities and developed a framework to describe the facilitators and barriers of the use of job accommodations. With this knowledge, Ms. Kudla was essential in building out two surveys to facilitate employment for people with disabilities. Ms.Kudla is currently in the process of completing her Masters of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling.
