My name is Maryam Sadeghi. I am currently a Ph.D. student in the Rehabilitation Science program at the University of Kansas Medical Center. I work at the Laboratory for Advanced Rehabilitation Research in Simulation (LARRS) under the supervision of Dr. Hannes Devos. My research focuses on cognitive and physical rehabilitation for patients with Parkinsonian disorders and Multiple Sclerosis. In LARRS, I utilize cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR) eye tracking, Force-Plate platform, and Wearable Sensors to aid in the clinical and functional diagnosis of neurodegenerative conditions. I apply machine learning models to the data extracted from eye-tracking, force plate platforms, and wearable sensors to assist in the differential diagnosis of Parkinsonian disorders. Although I just started the second year of my Ph.D., I have been awarded the Woodyard Fellowship for Neurodegenerative Diseases to conduct my Ph.D. studies.
