Akhila Veerubhotla, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor (Research) at New York University- Grossman School of Medicine within the department of Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Veerubhotla received her Ph.D. (2019) in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Pittsburgh and her M.S. degree (2014) in Biomedical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Her research expertise is in using physical activity monitors to objectively monitor and assess everyday physical activity and mobility in individuals with neurological limitations. Her research also focuses on developing novel metrics of mobility and balance that quantify the quality of movement following a traumatic brain injury, stroke, or spinal cord injury.
