Kimberly Beckwith McGuire, Ph.D., ABPP, FACHP
Dr. Kimberly Beckwith McGuire received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in San Diego, California. She is board certified in Clinical Health Psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology. A staff psychologist at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation (KIR) in West Orange, New Jersey since 2006, Dr. McGuire provides individual and group psychological services using a biopsychosocial/spiritual approach for individuals diagnosed with stroke, spinal cord injury, amputation, multiple sclerosis, cancer, and other illnesses.
Dr. McGuire is involved with program development and implementation for KIR clinical programs. She developed and oversees the facilitation of the Mindfulness and Pain Management Group at KIR. Additionally, Dr. McGuire provides supervision to psychology externs and participates in clinical research in the areas of multiple sclerosis, mindfulness, and pain management. Dr. McGuire is certified in the use of Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and HeartMath© techniques, and she also has training in the areas of biofeedback, relaxation training, mindfulness, and stress management.
