Kimberly graduated from Misericordia University with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. She worked at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation as a clinician for 11 years, on the stroke unit. Around 2009, she started conducting collaborative, stroke related rehabilitation research with the Kessler Foundation. She has an EdD from Teachers College, Columbia University and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Washington. Before coming to Duke, she was supported as a K12 scholar in the Rehabilitation Research Career Development Program, at the University of Texas Medical Branch, and expanded her research to include vision impairments, common to aging individuals. Her research lab aims to improve the visual and cognitive health needs of aging stroke survivors.
