Dr Priya Kannan obtained her PhD degree in Women’s Health Physiotherapy from the University of Otago, New Zealand. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the department of rehabilitation sciences at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her research interests include incontinence, non-pharmacological pain management, and physical activity. She has several publications in peer-reviewed journals with high impact factors. Recently she developed a non-invasive electromyography (EMG) biofeedback device (with wearable sensors) to be used for training the pelvic floor muscle in women having stress urinary incontinence. Her work has been recognized in the international arena specifically in Australia. Presentation of Dr Priya Kannan's work at scientific conference resulted in her achieving "Best New Researcher" at the Australian Physiotherapy Association Conference in Australia (2015).
