Michael Kirby is a second-year medical student at Central Michigan College of Medicine currently doing research on COVID wastewater surveillance and sepsis prevalence in ED patients. He attended the University of Colorado for his undergraduate education and worked in a phage genomics lab and anatomy lab there while completing pre-medical coursework. He spent several years volunteering and working in the emergency department setting and completed an EMT certification prior to beginning medical school, and he has great interest in pursuing a career in interventional medicine.
