I do not have any relevant financial / non-financial relationships with any proprietary interests.
I have a background in cognitive neuroscience, neuroimaging, neuromodulation, and I am a practicing pediatric neurologist. I am the Director for the University of Iowa Center for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation, which is an interdisciplinary and highly collaborative center that includes a TMS clinical service and a translational research program. A major focus of my laboratory is understanding the mechanisms of TMS, but I also understand TMS will never approach the spatiotemporal precision of intracranial neuromodulation. We also perform lesion studies to better understand brain-behavioral relationships and we are working toward using lesion-symptom mapping to provide personalized prognosis to stroke patients.
