Prior to receiving the appointment of Assistant Professor, Jane Roitsch, PhD, CCC-SLP, MBA, was a first an adjunct instructor and then a lecturer in the Department of Communication Disorders and Special Education at Old Dominion University. She is in her fifth year at the University. She is also an adjunct lecturer at the University of Nebraska-Kearney in the Speech-Language Pathology Department. Dr. Roitsch received her undergraduate degrees from Butler University, her master’s degree from The Ohio State University, her MBA from Case Western Reserve University and completed her PhD in Special Education with a concentration in communication disorders in December of 2018. She currently serves on the mentoring committee for the Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Virginia and is the Faculty Advisor for Operation Smile at ODU. Her research interests include executive functions, cognition, anatomy, dysphagia, voice and fluency disorders. She has published and presented internationally and nationally on the relationships between executive functions and students in healthcare professions.
