Marina is a rehabilitation clinician specialising in Stroke. Marina is an expert adult neurorehabilitation scientist at the Rehabilitation Sciences Department of the Cyprus University of Technology. Marina qualified from City University London and has been practising in Neurological Rehabilitation for the past 18 years. She studies for her PhD at the Department of Neurology at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, under the supervision of Professor Jean-Marie Annoni MD. In 2009, Marina established the Cyprus Stroke Association. She is currently the President of the Board, the Secretary of the Board of the Stroke Alliance for Europe, and a proud member of the ‘Future Stroke Leaders Program of the World Stroke Organization. Marina has received an achievement award in fighting stroke from SAFE. In 2020 Marina received the prestigious scholarship of the A.G. Leventis Foundation to support her PhD. She is also working on 3 Stroke related studies: the ASPIRE for post-stroke aphasia, the i-TRAIN for direct care workers and the ACESO to improve patient outcomes. Her main interests are rehabilitation, quality of life and patient and public involvement in stroke research.
