Iro Michael (she/her) – BA Psychology, MA Criminology, BTEC Professional Certificate in Counselling and Counselling Skills (Edexcel). Since 2016, Iro works at the Association for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in the Family, - currently as Head of Help Center. Iro is also registered mediator of the Cyprus Ministry of Justice and Public Order, and has many hours of experience as a researcher and facilitator in training programs in Greece and Cyprus on victims’ rights, gender-based violence, restorative justice and mediation. Since 2013, Iro has been member of working groups in national and EU-funded projects on victims’ rights, on violence against women, on restorative justice, and on school bullying. She has also (co-)authored peer-reviewed papers, book chapters and reports on victims’ rights, gender-based violence, restorative justice and mediation, and school bullying. She is Research Fellow at the RJ4All Institute (UK), and associate of the ‘Restorative Justice and Mediation’ lab of Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences.
