Dr. Michael Ellis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery, Section of Neurosurgery at the University of Manitoba. He is the Medical Director of the Pan Am Concussion Program, a multi-disciplinary program that provides care to pediatric patients with concussion and traumatic brain injuries living in Manitoba, northwestern Ontario and central Nunavut. More recently, the Pan Am Concussion Program has established novel clinical pathways to provide specialized care to patients in Manitoba and central Nunavut who sustain traumatic brain injuries as a result of intimate partner violence.
