I am a translational neuroscience researcher with a background in behavioral neuroscience and advanced training in neuropsychological assessment. A common theme among my research contributions is evaluating biological and behavioral mechanisms that affect functional both clinical and functional outcomes. My primary research focus is to identify how exposure to blasts during military service affects long-term outcomes in Veterans. I have over a decade of experience conducting research with Veterans that utilize a variety of techniques to measure outcomes including neuropsychological assessment, clinical interviews, as well as structural and functional neuroimaging. Through my experience conducting mixed-methods research projects, I have also developed expertise in diverse analytic techniques, including conditional process analysis, hierarchical linear modeling, individual growth curve modeling, and partial least squares structural equation modeling. My unique, research-focused background with training in clinical domains has given me the knowledge and skills to conduct relevant research on transdiagnostic outcomes using diverse methods. My program of research has broadly demonstrated effects of blast characteristics on cognitive (a), behavioral (b), and biological (c) outcomes. Beyond that, my expertise in effects of blast is also demonstrated in my involvement in the first published lifetime blast interview (d).
