Rebecca Hedrick M.D. is the Director for Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, an Associate Clinical Professor, and the Vice Clinical Chief of Psychiatry at Cedars Sinai Medical Center (CSMC) in Los Angeles. She serves as leader of a large Multidisciplinary CSMC Quality Improvement Project to Create a Multimodal Protocol for the Management of Agitation in Patients Admitted with Traumatic Brain Injury. Dr. Hedrick has led numerous Quality Improvement Projects at CSMC including depression and suicide risk screening, improving Code Dr. Strong workflow for agitated patients, optimizing restraint and sitter usage, revising the Medical Decisional Making Capacity Assessment Policy, and decreasing psychiatric transfer delays. Dr. Hedrick is a con-investigator of a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute funded $2,600,000 research study for Personalized Treatments for Depressive Symptoms in Patients with Advanced Heart Failure, comparing the effectiveness of antidepressant medication to Behavioral Activation Psychotherapy. Dr. Hedrick co-authored the chapter “Practice What You Preach” in the 2016 APA book Becoming Mindful: Integrating Mindfulness into Your Psychiatric Practice, and the chapter “Connection, Compassion, and Community” in the 2020 Handbook of Wellness Medicine. She co-led the Masters Course “Becoming Mindful” at the 2017 American Psychiatric Association conference, and a similar course at the 2017 Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry conference. Dr. Hedrick appeared on the Netflix documentary “13 Reasons Why: Beyond the Reasons”, and on the television shows Good Morning America and The Doctors
