Keara McNair is an advanced clinical specialist occupational therapist at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange, NJ with over eleven years of experience in inpatient rehabilitation. Keara obtained Board Certification in Physical Rehabilitation (BCPR) through the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) in 2017, is a member of the AOTA BCPR job analysis and exam writing committees, and is the program director of Kessler’s Occupational Therapy Fellowship Program in Physical Rehabilitation. Keara is a member of the American Spinal Injury Association Education committee, particularly the non- traumatic SCI subcommittee. Keara works primarily on the spinal cord injury unit with specialization in assistive technology and management of individuals with ventilator dependent respiratory failure, spinal tumors, and neurodegenerative diseases. Keara is also the clinical lead for Kessler’s inpatient cancer rehabilitation program and has presented nationally on management of individuals with metastatic cancer, predicting prognosis for individuals with cancer, and navigating difficult conversations in inpatient rehabilitation.
