Barbara Donleavy-Hiller, OTR/L, ATP, C/NDT, is a Senior Occupational Therapist and ATP of the Adaptive Equipment Service at Blythedale Children’s Hospital. She is certified by RESNA as an Assistive Technology Practitioner (ATP) and continues to be active in ongoing education and training. Barbara is a member of the interdisciplinary Assistive Technology Core Team at Blythedale and brings her passion for integration of services and advocacy for AT to the team and services provided to those inpatients, day hospital students and outpatients followed by the hospital. She earned her degree from Quinnipiac University and studied Rehab Technology at NYU. Barbara has over 31 years of experience dedicated to pediatrics. In addition to providing OT direct patient care services and serving as the liaison to the Infant/Toddler inpatient unit her areas of specialty in the Adaptive Equipment Service include: Assessment of posture and functional positioning for seating and mobility; Assessment and training of power mobility; Assessment of seating needs for high risk population including use of Pressure Mapping technology; Coordination of AT device interface for function; and navigation of funding process and advocacy.
