Maya L. Henry is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and Neurology at The University of Texas at Austin and is director of the Aphasia Research and Treatment Lab. A speech-language pathologist by training, her clinical and research interests are in the nature and treatment of aphasia caused by stroke and neurodegenerative disease. Her research, funded by the National Institutes of Health, has explored the cognitive and neural bases of spoken and written language as well as the rehabilitation of speech and language impairments associated with primary progressive aphasia.
