Reindolf Anokye is a final-year PhD student at Edith Cowan University, Australia. His doctoral work explores the impact of cardiovascular disease screening on motivation for healthy behaviours, psychological distress, and quality of life in asymptomatic adults. He is a co-investigator of the Modification of Diet, Exercise and Lifestyle study a world-first randomized controlled trial evaluating the use of a new cheap, fast and safe measure of structural vascular disease in older men and women to improve the adherence to public health messages, and to improve the overall quality of life. He holds an MSc in Disability, Rehabilitation, and Development and BA in Social Work. He is particularly interested in the ways that psychological and social factors influence a range of lifestyle behaviours (e.g., diet, physical activity, smoking cessation, medication adherence) and health outcomes.
His research publications, numbering over 30, range from studies of persons with disabilities, the aging population, lifestyle behaviours that prolong healthy life and well-being and mental health and psychology. He serves as a peer reviewer for several top-tier academic journals and a recipient of several awards and fellowships.
