Promoting physical activity (PA) after moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) is challenging due to elevated PA barriers (e.g., transportation, accessibility, endurance, self-consciousness) and COVID-19-related restrictions leading to the closure of community fitness centers. This oral presentation will discuss the feasibility and acceptability of running a six-week walking-group intervention for 18 adults with moderate-to-severe TBI for the purpose of improving their PA participation and health outcomes during COVID-19. Outcomes support the developemnt, implementation, and evaluation of formalized walking-group interventions in the community after moderate-to-severe TBI.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participants will be able to assess the feasibility and acceptability of an outdoor walking-group intervention for adults with moderate-to-severe TBI.
Upon completion, participants will be able to assess how the outcomes support the development, implementation, and evaluation of formalized walking-group interventions in the community after moderate-to-severe TBI.
Upon completion, participants will be able to assess the implications for using outdoor walking-groups to improve health outcomes after moderate-to-severe TBI.
