(MOVED TO NOV 7) IC4: Alexander Technique: A Novel Cognitive Embodiment Approach to Complement and Enhance Clinical Rehabilitation Practice

Alexander technique (AT) is a novel cognitive embodiment intervention that can be delivered in a variety of clinical, educational, and community settings. The presence of AT-based programs in clinical settings is growing out of AT’s well-established primacy in performing arts programs as a training to skillfully manage stressful circumstances, reduce anxiety, avoid injury and musculoskeletal pain, and increase overall functional performance. AT specialists teach ways of thinking that combine interoception, exteroception, proprioception, and goal awareness to enhance the performance of daily activities while improving confidence and reducing anxiety. Learn how AT interventions are designed, researched, and implemented; get an overview of research on the clinical impact of AT interventions on target populations; and understand the potential role for AT specialists in interdisciplinary care. We include 90 minutes of enjoyable experiential learning. You will take away some AT-based strategies to try with your clients, and to enhance your  well being, too!
