The Traumatic Brain Injury Model Systems (TBIMS) has a rich history of conducting research to support caregiver adjustment to TBI. Three recent TBIMS collaborative projects that focus on caregiver adjustment are highlighted in this symposium. The first study explores factors associated with caregiver resilience 6-months post injury. The second describes associations between emotional dysregulation and awareness experienced after 1-year after TBI and caregivers’ subjective sense of burden. The third presents a problem-solving intervention for caregivers that can be delivered during inpatient rehabilitation. Together, these three studies showcase efforts within the TBIMS to identify meaningful targets for intervention to support caregivers.
