This symposium seeks to illustrate knowledge translation principles in action, by outlining our efforts to spread and scale Direct Access to PT within the Military Health System (MHS). Direct Access to PT, in which physical therapy evaluation and treatment take place without a physician referral, has shown measurable success in select local military treatment facilities and within the literature (e.g. Rhon et al., 2021). We will highlight dissemination, implementation, and assessment practices to create and sustain positive change within the MHS by facilitating early MSK appointing and care.
