Several prospective, multi-site studies of Long COVID are currently underway around the world. Consensus on common biomarkers and longitudinal measures of functioning is beginning to emerge. The current symposium contributes to this effort by bringing together Long COVID research programs from the Oregon Health & Science University/VA Portland Healthcare System, the COVIMMUNE-Clin consortium from the U. of Bonn Medical School, Germany, and the Alzheimer's Association's international consortium on Chronic Neurological Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection, which will present findings from a large prospective cohort of Amerindians from Argentina. Presentations and discussions will address the following questions: a) which biomarkers show the most prognostic promise?; which cognitive and behavioral measures appear most sensitive to change over time; which phenotypes and symptom trajectories emerge; and, what points of post-acute intervention are suggested by these findings? Objectives include: suggesting prognostic biomarkers for patient education; informing treatment timeframes; and approaching agreement on common data elements.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participants will be able to identify which cognitive measures (e.g. self-report, limited screening exams, genuine cognitive assessments) are most sensitive to change over time.
Upon completion, participants will be able to describe the most common phenotypes of cognitive and behavioral changes following COVID-19
Upon completion, participants will be able to understand the predictors of cognitive impairment following COVID-19.
Upon completion, participants will be able to idscribe the proposed mechanisms of cognitive deficits following COVID-19 and possible targets for secondary prevention.
