This presentation will cover three main topics: 1) describe the importance of the mentoring relationship honoring Dr. Margaret Nosek and providing examples of our collaborative work during years of mentorship, friendship, and advocacy; with 2) a brief overview of our collaborative psychosocial and health promotion research on women with disabilities, including SCI, and stakeholders. Then, (3) I will share the results of “Healthcare Resources for Women with SCI (HeRe for Women with SCI)”. This project developing a web-based directory of resources for the specific needs of women with SCI.

Learning Objectives:

Describe the current knowledge on how mentoring and stakeholder collaborations and essential to guide meaningful research efforts.
Identify barriers to obtaining healthcare information that is specific to women with SCI.
Describe the need for accessible information resources for women with SCI and medical practitioners related to 5 healthcare topics identified by women with SCI.
Identify areas for future research and education addressing gaps in knowledge and clinical practice for improving the health of women with SCI.
