In 2019 the Neurocritical Care Society launched Curing Coma, a clinical, scientific and public health effort. Curing Coma is the first global public health initiative to tackle the unifying concept of coma as a treatable medical entity. This symposium will provide attendees an introduction to Curing Coma initiative and disseminate the organizational structure. Review of the Curing Coma structure will highlight the committees, modules and work groups that are focusing on the multiple aspects of international coma care. Leaders within Curing Coma will highlight organizational objectives, research initiatives, funding and grant initiatives, public awareness campaign and promotion of interdisciplinary and inter-organizational collaboration. This symposium is applicable to all professionals interested or practicing in DoC care and research. Attendees will be able to identify where their expertise and research interests could support Curing Coma. Participants will be provided information on how to get involved and opportunities to collaborate with Curing Coma.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will understand the CCC mission and organizational structure.
Participants will examine existing CCC modules, workgroup and committee initiatives.
3. Participants will identify current research opportunities related to Curing Coma.
4. Participants will learn about DoC-related resources available within the CCC network.
