The Learning Health Systems Rehabilitation Research Network (LeaRRn) is an NIH-funded rehabilitation resource center, established in 2020 that is dedicated to developing learning health systems (LHS) research competencies in rehabilitation researchers. In prior work, the LeaRRn Techniques Development team collaborated with a multi-disciplinary expert panel to develop a survey to characterize interest in and knowledge of learning health systems research core competencies. In this symposium, members of the expert panel and LeaRRn team will report the results of the large survey of rehabilitation researchers conducted with the survey. Speakers from a wide range of disciplines will discuss the implications of the study results for various rehabilitation disciplines, and opportunities for advancing rehabilitation researchers’ LHS research knowledge, skills, and leadership.

Identify the competencies needed by learning health system (LHS) researchers
Share results of survey of rehabilitation researchers about interest in and knowledge of LHS research competencies
Discuss relevance to various rehabilitation disciplines and opportunities to advance LHS research knowledge and skills
