Dr. Jan K Richardson PT, OCS, FAPTA is CMO for Medical Outcome Indicators (MOI) & is Professor Emeritus, School of Medicine at Duke University. Jan has been Professor of Community & Family Medicine, Founding Chief of the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), & Exec Dir. of Dept of Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy at Duke. She is Founding Chair/Prof of DPT program, Exec Dir., & Chief Executive Officer for the Institute for Health Care & Research at Slippery Rock University. She was a board member of US Bone & Joint Institute representing ACR. Jan earned a PhD & MS from University of Pittsburgh, her post graduate Physical Therapy from University of Pennsylvania, & BS from PSU. Active in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Jan was APTA President, served as the USA delegate to the World Confederation of Physical Therapy, was a member of the Exec Comm of APTA Board of Directors, served as Chair of the national TriAlliance of APTA/AOTA/ASHA, & ABPTS Task Force for Specialization. Jan has served as President of ARP & on ACR Exec Comm & Board of Directors. She currently serves as Co-Chair of ARP Governance TF, on ACR Strategic Planning TF & on RRF/SAC. Jan has received many awards including Catherine Worthingham Fellow Award (APTA), Lucy Blair Service Award (APTA), & was selected an ELAM Fellow. Jan has pioneered work in establishing valid,reliable scales for pain & disability, & is primary author of a well-known Orthopaedic PT textbook.
