Dr. Kang is Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center and Fellowship Program Director in the Division of Rheumatology. She completed a Masters in Bioethics at Columbia University and has developed a bioethics curriculum for rheumatology fellows, with the aim of improving rheumatologists’ knowledge of bioethics and ability to apply that knowledge to assess ethical issues. Her work also includes exploring participant preferences for the return of research results and researchers’ practices and views on returning incidental findings. She was Chair of the ACR Committee on Ethics and Conflict of Interest, Co-Chair of the ACR In-Training Examination Taskforce and a member of the ACR CME Oversight Committee. She is currently serving on the ACR Board of Directors.
