Board certified Rheumatologist and Dermatologist
Mount Sinai Medical Center
New York, NY, United States
Dr. Saakshi Khattri is a Dermatologist, Rheumatologist and Internist and one of only a handful of physicians across the United States with both rheumatology and dermatology training. After completing her M.B.B.S. from Delhi University (India), Dr. Khattri moved to New York to complete her Internal Medicine Residency followed by a fellowship in Rheumatology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. During her fellowship, she realized that rheum patients often saw derm and vice versa and this lead to her decision to pursue additional training in dermatology, which was by no means an easy task. She went on to complete a two-year long research fellowship in Rockefeller University under the mentorship of Dr. Emma Guttman and Dr. James Krueger where she conducted both bench research and clinical trials in atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. Dr. Khattri then completed a residency in Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, where she served as chief resident and after the completion of her residency stayed and is currently an Associate Professor.
She is the Director of The Center for Connective Tissue Diseases, at Mount Sinai and the Director of the inpatient consult service at Mount Sinai’s Westside campus. Her clinical focus is on inflammatory and autoimmune skin diseases, complex medical dermatology and diseases with rheumatology/dermatology overlap.
