Dr. Oddis is Professor of Medicine in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Director of the Myositis Center. His academic interests center around the investigation and treatment of inflammatory myopathy with an emphasis on the clinical features, autoantibody associations, pathogenesis, and treatment. Dr. Oddis was the Principal Investigator on the RIM (Rituximab in Myositis) Trial, the first multicenter clinical trial in myositis funded by the National Institutes of Health. He authored the Consensus Guidelines for the Conduct of Clinical Trials in Myositis. He continues to coordinate myositis clinical trials including the investigation of autoimmune ILD. He directed or co-directed the Fellowship Training Program at the University of Pittsburgh from 2001-2019, received the Clinician Scholar Educator Award from the ACR, chaired the ACR Annual Meeting Planning Committee from 2012-2014 and was selected as a Master in the ACR in 2019. He served as an Associate Editor for Arthritis and Rheumatology until 2020.
