Isabel Castrejon (MD PhD), is a Rheumatologist and Associate Professor at the Hospital Universitario Gregorio Marañón (HUGM) and the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, Spain. She is the actual Principal Investigator of BIOBADASER (the national Biologics Register by the Spanish Society of Rheumatology). She is the Clinical Lead of the early arthritis program at HUGM, where she has contributed to develop a successful collaboration with the primary care physicians in the hospital area for early referal. Following the completion of her PhD at the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid and working abroad for 10 year at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases and Rush University Medical Center, her academic activity is largely focused on translational research where her main areas of interest are early arthritis with a special focus on the role of patient reported outcomes and biologic therapies. Dr. Castrejon has published more than 100 papers in high-impact journals and has written multiple chapters in text books. She currently combines her clinical activity with her research and teaching activities.
