Dr. Broder’s research focuses on improving outcomes in systemic lupus erythematosus.
She studies how cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, and the presence of
antiphospholipid antibodies affect outcomes in autoimmune diseases. Her work is
supported by funding from the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and
Skin Diseases (NIAMS) to study lupus activity and medication use in lupus-related end
stage kidney disease. She serves as a scientific reviewer for US and international
government agencies, leading rheumatology peer-reviewed journals, and publishing
agencies.
Dr. Broder received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of
New Jersey/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed her Internal
Medicine Residency and her Rheumatology Fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center.
She has also received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Research Methods from the Albert
Einstein College of Medicine Clinical Research Training Program. She is the Director of
the Division of Rheumatology at Hackensack University Medical Center.
