Smruthi is a Master of Science student in the Rehabilitation Science program at the University of British Columbia (UBC) under the supervision of Dr. Linda Li. She previously completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology at UBC.
She is a big proponent of the Exercise is Medicine movement and using a comprehensive approach in clinical care. As such, her thesis will explore wearables and health technologies to support patients with knee osteoarthritis to engage in activity. This research aims to improve our understanding of how and why patients choose to engage in exercise in order to better inform future physical activity promotion interventions.
